A collection of images around the theme of travel.

There is perhaps no religion in the world which conjures as much vivid imagery as Hinduism. The pilgrimage towns of India serve as the living, breathing evidence. Despite their incredible array of colors and textures I am primarily attracted to these places, because of the elements of timelessness which seem to lurk at every corner. Whether one is confronted by an ancient local face or bears witness to an age old ritual by the water, the feeling of being back in time is ever-present.

Thuman is a small mountain village in the Langtang region of Nepal. With no connections to motorable roads, it is a remote place. The village is home to the Tamangs – a tribal people of Tibetan origin, who look and dress differently to other people of Nepal. An important emphasis is placed on Buddhism the one and only religion in Thuman, and the ‘Gompa’ (the village temple) is the village heart around which life revolves.

South-East Rajasthan is a predominantly rural region of West of India. The 'Bundi' district and the surrounding areas are known for the incredible hospitality of the people and the vast visual tapestry present in all elements of life. While things are gradually changing and much of the locals are striving to 'modernize', the region still retains most of its 'exotic' factor. Bright turbans and saris are aplenty, the vast natural landscapes remain unencumbered by development and the people are some of the warmest a stranger is likely to encounter on any journey.
